This assignment was really fun to complete! All of my images that I tried to recreate are creative commons images found with google's creative commons search tool. Most of the historical images are dated from the early 1900s, but one of them is from 2009. I find it interesting to see the differences in signage, businesses that live in old town, and cars in all of the photos. A view of the Seavers Building in Old Town, Pocatello. The view looking down Main in Pocatello. Original photo from 2009. A view from the opposite side of Main in Pocatello. I tried to recreate this postcard illustration of the east view of Pocatello. I love how the buildings line up, and the yellow of the Kane Building sticks out just like in the postcard! I ended up doing a fair amount of research on the Petersen Building, which is currently vacant. The original building had beautiful stained glass with the letter 'p' on it. To me, its sad to see the windows boarded up. This is the panorama that I came up with. Originally it had 9+ frames, but my mom was in the shot so I took a couple off. I really love how it came out. This is somewhere between Fall Creek and St. Anthony. It was very smoky out and I love how you can see that on the right side.
